How beautiful are your feet? My family has always made fun of my feet, especially my toes. Let me ask you a question....what do your feet look like? Are you a size ten or a petite size five? Perhaps you have calluses, or are you blessed with long slender toes? Guess what, no matter what your feet look like, God sees them as perfect! That is because He made them to give you the ability to go and tell others about Him. The Bible says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the Good News” (Romans 10:15).
In Jesus' day, the disciples walked many dusty roads spreading the Good News that God’s Son brings eternal life. In today’s world, Jesus has provided many avenues for us to share this gospel message in our homes, our workplaces, our churches. He has even given us the modern technology of the Internet! Do you know that you can be “chatting” with someone from Israel, Germany, the UK, Africa and even your own hometown, all at the same time? You can be sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people from all over the world and never have to leave the comfort of your own home. I do this every day as a volunteer for the Women Today Online Ministry team for Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada. One of my grandsons has named me a “computer missionary.” I let my fingers do the walking and the talking!
Two years ago, when my husband retired, we brought our first computer home. A friend of mine had given me some web sites to browse through and these eventually brought me to www.christianwomentoday.com. This web site intrigued me with all its wonderful articles and in particular...the chat room! One day I signed into the www.christianwomentoday.com chat room and discovered a warm and inviting crowd that welcomed me. Soon after, I joined a moderated chat and discovered it to be a real blessing to encourage and pray with others in the room who were struggling. After participating in several chat and prayer sessions, some of the ladies on the Christian Women Today Online Team approached me and asked if I would prayerfully consider hosting a moderated chat. I was so honored. I knew God had been leading me, in my own church, and now through this Internet ministry, to be a Titus 2 woman, "training younger women."
Over these past two years of volunteering as a chat hostess God has given me the privilege of leading some very special people into a personal relationship with Him. Presently I still host a chat session on Monday nights at 10pm EST. It is such an awesome privilege to be used by God in bringing the gospel message of love and forgiveness to so many who feel unloved.
Last April I was able to fly toVancouver, British Columbia and take part in the first Internet Ministry Conference with Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada. What a joy it was to actually chat face to face with the wonderful people of this online team who help to coordinate these web sites. We had a wonderful time of training as well as visiting and praying together.and appointed to be here at this particular time in history. What an awesome thought!
Each of us has been created by God We are each called to fulfill the Great Commission, as Jesus said, “I’m telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what’s right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It’s harvest time!” (John 4:35b) Let’s not miss out on being part of this exciting time in history. We have each been strategically placed, by God, in our neighborhoods, workplaces, churches, and homes to be salt and light, and it’s “harvest time!”
