A Baby Horse

“I wanna hug Bobbi,” Tia said.
When Tia was two years old, she was not afraid of anything. Bobbi was our 8 month-old baby horse (foal). Tia was real small and the foal was real big. Both of them were very young, loving and unafraid. She would lean her head on the colt’s neck and Bobbi responded by nuzzling her neck. Children and horses like to be loved.
Tia wanted to walk into the field with the horses but I had to explain to her that it was very dangerous to walk in a field with horses when you are small. The little foal might run into her and hurt her.
Then Tia had another idea. She decided it was time to go to find Mommy (who was at work). She started walking down the driveway which led to a very busy highway with many cars and trucks. I wanted her to come back, so I began to ask her questions and she stopped and listened. I caught up to her and carried her to the house explaining that going to the road was very dangerous. Children need love but they also need to be protected from going places where they could get hurt.
Today, lets thank God for horses and your Mom and Dad who love you and protect you from getting hurt.
Dear Jesus, thank you for beautiful animals like horses and deer. Thank you for mommy and daddy who protect me from getting hurt. Amen
