Glimpses into the Bible - Part 1
Many people spend their lives in the pursuit of hope. Christ grants access to "living hope" on the first day of our new relationship with him..
1. Born again to a Living Hope... (v3)
The new birth in Christ supplies an Actual Alive Hope eliminating a persons need to pursue/acquire a future wherein all his/her dreams are focused, thus allowing total concentration on spiritual objectives.
(Mat 12:21 ASV) And in His name shall the Gentiles hope.
(Rom 8:24 ASV) For in hope were we saved: but hope that is seen is not hope: for who hopes for that which he sees?
(Rom 12:12 ASV) rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing steadfastly in prayer;
(Rom 15:4 ASV) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.
(Rom 15:12 ASV) And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.
(Rom 15:13 ASV) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
(2Co 3:12 ASV) Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,
(Gal 5:5 ASV) For we through the Spirit by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
(Col 1:5 ASV) because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
(Col 1:27 ASV) to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(1Th 5:8 ASV) But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
(2Th 2:16 ASV) Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
(1Ti 1:1 ASV) Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and Christ Jesus our hope;
(1Ti 4:10 ASV) For to this end we labor and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of them that believe.
(1Ti 5:5 ASV) Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, hath her hope set on God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
(1Ti 6:17 ASV) Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not high minded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;
(Tit 1:2 ASV) in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal;
(Tit 3:7 ASV) that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
(Heb 3:6 ASV) but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.
(Heb 6:18 ASV) that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
The Bible says that "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God/Christ" Romans 10:17
I read the above verses over and over until I began to realize what the author of the Bible was offering me. As I kept reading, the verses began to get wider and deeper and slowly began to reach into my soul and eventually into my heart and I began to realize that this was no ordinary book and that I ought to pay closer attention to what was being said here.
