One Link in a Chain

“For you must teach others those things you and many others have heard me speak about. Teach trustworthy men (people), who will, in turn, pass them on to others” (2 Timothy 2:2).
One of my neighbours invited me to her craft sale. I decided to go so that I could meet more of the neighbours and I was very glad I went. At the sale I met Janet, my former neighbour. She had been the first woman on the block to join a Bible study I taught years before.
As we were leaving the craft sale, she thanked me for discipling her when she was a new mom. We chatted about some of our former neighbours and I asked her about a woman named Carol who had come to an evangelistic coffee in my home. She had not prayed to receive Christ that day, but Janet continued to meet with her. Carol did ask Jesus into her life several months later.
I was so encouraged to hear this. Because I discipled Janet and had an evangelistic coffee in my home. Carol, another neighbour heard the gospel at the coffee and Janet led her to Christ and discipled her. And although Carol is now living in another city, she is helping disciple abused women.
God showed me that I was one link in the chain that helped Carol on her spiritual journey. Now Janet and Carol are helping many others. (1 Timothy 2:2)
Has God used you as a link in a chain of someone’s spiritual journey? Have you thanked Him for using you?
Father, help us to be obedient to You when You prompt us to pray, to witness and to encourage, because all of these things are one link in a chain of events that brings others closer to Your love. Amen
